    Timeline

Yapa takes its name from a Quechua word for a small extra gesture — something offered from host to guest. The cuisine carries Mediterranean warmth, Asian influences, and South American spirit. The room is tactile, intimate, and unhurried. Sound became a way to deepen the emotional identity of the space.

SONIC BRIEF

Yapa already had sound in place, with playlists changing over time through different artists and selections. The goal was not to introduce sound for the first time, but to shape a clearer sonic direction, one that could help the space grow into its own emotional identity. The work focused on defining a more coherent atmosphere: intimate, human, textured, and expressive, with music that could support the character of the room and give Yapa a more recognizable voice over time.

CURATION APPROACH

We designed a sonic arc that moves gently with the evening, from early arrival to late room. Four moments, one voice.

  1. P.01 — First arrival
Soft acoustic textures, warm vocals, and light rhythmic details create an immediate sense of ease as guests enter the room.
  2. P.02 — Dinner
As the room settles into dinner, the selection becomes fuller without becoming louder. Organic percussion, intimate grooves, and human-touch records carry the rhythm of service.
  3. P.03 — After dinner
As the room loosens, the music shifts into deeper, warmer rhythms — still tactile and elegant, with more movement around the bar.
  4. P.04 — Late room
The final part holds the room with low-end-lit energy and refined texture — quietly magnetic, never tipping into performance.
